International Conference on Polyol Mediated Synthesis in Hikone, Japan und the 18. Vortragstagung\u00a0 der Fachgruppe Festk\u00f6rperchemie und Materialforschung der GDCh<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"ie erste Konferenz hat gleich zwei Vorteile: Ich kann mein (gesprochenes) Japanisch mal wieder aufpolieren und ich lerne einiges \u00fcber neueste Entwicklung im Bereich der Nanomaterialien.\">The first conference has two advantages: I can polish up my (spoken) Japanese again and I will learn a lot about the latest development in the field of nanomaterials. <\/span><span title=\"Die spezielle Methode zur Herstellung solcher Materialien \u00fcber Polyole erlaubt eine gewisse Steuerung von Eigenschaften und Gestalt bietet daher interessante M\u00f6glichkeiten.\">The unique method of synthesizing such materials via polyols allows some control of properties and shape, and therefore provides interesting possibilities. <\/span><span title=\"Polyole sind Alkohole mit mehreren OH-Gruppen.\">Polyols are alcohols having several OH groups. Diethylene g<\/span><span title=\"Glykol, das traurige Ber\u00fchmtheit als Weinpanschmittel erlang hat, w\u00e4re ein einfaches Beispiel daf\u00fcr.\">lycol, which has become sadly famous during the wine scandal, would be a simple example. <\/span><span title=\"Da diese Syntheseart die Herstellung verschiedenster Materialien f\u00fcr verschiedenste Zwecke erlaubt, erhoffe ich mich einen sch\u00f6nen Einblick in die Themen, die derzeit aktuell sind. \">Since this type of synthesis allows for the production of various materials for various purposes, I hope to get a nice insight into the issues that are currently explored.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"gt-res-content\" class=\"almost_half_cell\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"Da diese Syntheseart die Herstellung verschiedenster Materialien f\u00fcr verschiedenste Zwecke erlaubt, erhoffe ich mich einen sch\u00f6nen Einblick in die Themen, die derzeit aktuell sind. \">http:\/\/www.ic-polyol.org\/<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"Die Vortragstagung in Innsbruck steht unter dem Motto: Dick und d\u00fcnn:facettenreiche Eigenschaften von Schichtmaterialien, womit der Schwerpunkt schon genannt ist.\">The lecture meeting in Innsbruck has the motto: &#8220;Thick and thin: multi-faceted properties of layered materials&#8221;, which already states the focus of this meeting quite nicely. <\/span><span title=\"Diese Schichtmaterialien k\u00f6nnten eine Rolle im Bereich der Sensorik und Energiespeicherung spielen.\">These layer materials could play a role in sensing and energy storage. Another kea issue are <\/span><span title=\"Auch neue Materialien f\u00fcr LEDs stellen ein Schwerpunktthema dar.
