Great Wordfast User Conference in Nice

The Wordfast User Conference 2016 in Nice was a great event. The organization was perfect, as was the location and the contributions. During the conference, Wordfast Pro 4 was released and we had a lot of opportunities to get to know the latest child of the Wordfast universe with a new design and new features. For Wordfast Classic Fans, as I am, Dominique Pivard demonstrated advanced techniques to do “all” translations in WFC, even PowerPoint or XML or other kind of files. Other topics were useful tools, for example, some tricks to get better results for OCR’d files and a fantastic demonstration of IntelliWebSearch, which I will certainly buy. This tool was good in its earliest versions, but it has improved a lot since and has now many features I always wanted. There were also non-computer related sessions which were praised a lot. Unfortunately, I had only time for one of these and this was great, even if I did not really learn how to win 30-60 minutes a day. At least, Søren Ellengard has given me a lot to think about, as well as the memory of film showing how to build a house in less than 3 hours (sic!). The crowing of all was the conference dinner on the terrace of a hotel in the middle of Nice (see picture below), a great place for having fun and eating a delicious French Dinner. To follow in the footsteps of this memorable event, will be quite an undertaking!
